Celebrating 31 years of manufacturing and retailing GM restoration parts and accessories, the recent annual Original Parts Group Car Show held at the OPGI headquarters in Seal Beach, California on Sunday, April 7th turned out to be a record breaking event with over 1,000 spectators showing up to enjoy the great weather and check out the 200 beautifully restored classic General Motors cars on display. The OPGI Car Show also received national exposure thanks to a film crew from Hot ROD TV who documented all of the automotive action for television broadcast.

The 2013 Show was the best attended annual event at OPGI’s headquarters to date, with OPGI’s COO Tony Genty commenting that “We’re very pleased with the show and turn out, it was easily twice as large as last year and our most successful yet.” The free event combined great weather, great cars, a variety of aftermarket accessory vendor displays and good food to create the perfect backdrop for a day of fun in the sun for Southern California auto enthusiasts. Those in attendance also qualified for over 100 prize drawing giveaways from vendors and clubs including Guaranty Chevrolet, Edelbrock, JH Restorations, Flowmaster, B&M, Comp Cams, Taylor, Hotchkis, RCD, American Autowire, Eddie Motorsports, Seal Beach Animal Care Center, Inflight Surf Shop, Art Carr, TMI, Retrosound, MD/R&R Marketing, CAS, Jim Wangers GTOs, the Kadillac Kings and the Southern California Chevelle Camino Club. The most coveted prizes were a $500 OPGI Gift Certificate that went to Butch DeBie, and the grand prize 350 HO Deluxe Crate engine from General Motors that went to lucky winner Rick Cordes.

The musical entertainment for the show was provided by Surf City Sound and included streaming hits from the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s. The Seal Beach Lion’s Club served a pancake breakfast in the morning hours and lunch was prepared on site by popular local restaurants The Abbey and Taco Surf. Original Parts Group would like to thank everyone who came out to the OPGI headquarters, including the public, the car owners and the generous vendors who donated so many great prizes. OPGI also made a large charitable donation of its own in support of the local community by presenting a $2,500 check to the representatives of the Seal Beach Animal Care Center in attendance at the show. Check out the photos from this year’s show and remember to mark your calendar as a reminder for next year’s event too.
