OPGI’s 2014 Classic Car Show

2014 OPGI Classic Car Show

Celebrating 32 years of manufacturing and retailing GM restoration parts and accessories, Original Parts Group, Inc. hosted its annual free Classic Car Show at the OPGI headquarters in Seal Beach, California on Saturday, April 5th. The perfect early April weather combined with great cars, a variety of restoration and aftermarket accessory vendor displays along with some very good food, to create the perfect backdrop for a Southern California auto enthusiast’s ultimate day of fun in the sun. This is one car show that just keeps getting better each year as more people discover that this annual event always presents great classic cars in a fun and family-friendly, seaside location.

As in years past, a large number of spectators showed up to enjoy the great weather and check out the 150 beautifully restored classic General Motors cars on display. The OPGI Classic Car Show also enjoyed national exposure this year thanks to a film crew from Dream Ridez and the Lokar Car Show who documented all of the automotive action for television broadcast. Those lucky enough to be in attendance also qualified for over 120 prize drawing giveaways from many different vendors and clubs including: Guaranty Chevrolet, Edelbrock, JH Restorations, Flowmaster, B&M, Comp Cams, Taylor, Hotchkis, RCD, American Autowire, Eddie Motorsports, Hellwig Products, Art Carr, TMI, Retrosound, Wilwood, MSD, Painless Performance, Custom Autosound, CPP, GT Performance, Jool Tool, Surf City Garage, Affliction, Art Carr, AutoMeter, Hedman, Lokar, Powermaster, Lucas, Distinctive Industries, Mothers, Trim Parts, R-Blox, Milodon, Dynamat, Ken Harrison, PUI, the Kadillac Kings and the Southern California Chevelle Camino Club. The most coveted prizes were a $500 OPGI Gift Certificate that went to David Cobb, and the grand prize 350 HO Deluxe Crate engine from General Motors that went to lucky winner Cuco Chavez.

Musical entertainment for the show was provided by Surf City Sound and included streaming hits from the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s, and the Seal Beach Lion’s Club served breakfast in the morning and lunch throughout the afternoon. Original Parts Group would like to thank everyone who came out to the show this year, including the public, the car owners and the generous vendors who donated so many great prizes. OPGI also made a charitable donation of its own in support of the local community to the Seal Beach Lions Club.
