Just a couple miles down the road from Original Parts Group is Main Street in Seal Beach California, home to the Seal Beach Classic Car Show. Each year the show gets bigger and this year there were over 500 classic vehicles. After yet another year, the OPGI team headed back to Las Vegas to display at the Specialty Equipment Market Association Show, better known as SEMA. While our guys here at Original Parts Group worked on the getting the inside right, we sent the body off to Elite Restoration in Bellflower CA. As you can see in the gallery below, some pieces of the body were beyond repair. Luckily the guys over at Elite Restoration had a bit more leeway pulling sections from a '62 Corvair junker acquired by OPGI. Next up, engine work, suspension, and brakes. Convertible top, interior, engine, sub-frame/suspension/brakes/wheels and exhaust system are all removed in preparation for either refinishing or replacement. Nuts and bolts are tagged and bagged, parts are cleaned and their further usefulness is determined. (more…)
